Jade Makori
Young Professionals Representative
Jade is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Member Arbitrator with the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya and the United Kingdom). She has over 6 years’
experience in data protection advisory and audit; cybersecurity advisory; and technology
law. She is a Fellow in Information Privacy, a Certified Information Privacy Manager and a
Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe with the International Association of
Privacy Professionals.
Jade is a Member of the Internet Society. She has also served as a NextGen, a NextGen
Ambassador, a Fellow and a Returning Fellow with the Internet Corporation for Assigned
Names and Numbers; a Youth Ambassador with the Global Internet Governance Forum;
and a Member of the Steering Committee of the Kenya School of Internet Governance.
Jade was formerly an Assistant Manager in PwC Kenya, in the Legal Business Solutions
Team. She joined PwC Kenya from Anjarwalla & Khanna LLP where she focused on
advising clients on commercial law aspects ranging from data protection, technology
media and telecommunications, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and
corporate governance. Prior to that, she was a Graduate Assistant at the Strathmore
University Law School, also coordinating the Microsoft Policy Innovation Centre.
Jade is currently pursuing her Master of Laws Degree at Stanford University, focusing on
Law, Science and Technology.
